We greatly value and rely on our volunteer coaches to support our programs. If you are interested in coaching, please visit https://www.norwestsoccer.com/help-wanted/volunteers/volunteers for information on how to sign up for both new and returning coaches.
Unfortunately, we do not honour any coach requests.
For safety and in accordance with FIFA regulations, all players must wear shin guards, and players aged 5 and older are required to wear cleats on the field. The club will provide uniforms and soccer balls. Players are strongly encouraged to bring a water bottle to each session.
For children under 6, uniform pickup dates are emailed to parents annually, and uniforms can be collected at our office at the BMO Centre. For children 7 and older, teams with a volunteer coach will receive their uniforms during practice.
Uniform sizes are assigned based on availability, and unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill specific size requests.
The club provides one of each item per player. To purchase additional equipment, please contact us or visit the office during business hours.
In keeping with Canada Soccer's Grassroots Standards we do not track scores or standings in any of our house league divisions below Under 14.
All players will receive a memento at the end of the season.
When registering a player, parents may request that their child be placed on the same team as one other child. All requests must be made through PowerUp during registration; requests submitted any other way will not be accepted. Requests must be mutual; both players must request to be on the same team.
Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee it will be accommodated.
Please review the full Request Policy on our website for more details.
Our goal is to send the welcome email with all necessary information to parents the first week of May. Player schedules will be available on PowerUp.
If your child is on the waitlist, it means the program has reached its maximum capacity. While we cannot guarantee that a spot will become available, we recommend keeping your child on the waitlist, as we will contact those on the list if space opens up.
Player safety is our top priority. In the event of an injury on the field, staff are equipped with basic First Aid kits to manage minor injuries. For serious injuries, emergency services should be contacted immediately.
Anyone with a suspected concussion must be immediately removed from play and assessed by a medical doctor or nurse practitioner. Before returning to full-contact practice or games, all symptoms must be fully resolved, documented medical clearance must be provided, and any recurrence of symptoms requires immediate removal and reassessment.
For further information about our concussion policy and resources please visit our policies page: https://www.norwestsoccer.com/our-club/policies-forms
Norwest makes every effort to provide a referee for each game. However, if a referee is unavailable, parents or coaches may volunteer to officiate the match.
Our programs run rain or shine. However, in the event of severe weather, such as thunder or lightning, all participants must leave the field immediately for safety. Game cancellations before the scheduled start time are rare and typically only occur if the City of London closes the fields. If fields are closed in advance, we will notify families via email and post updates on our social media channels.
Unfortunately, games canceled due to rain will not be rescheduled. As inclement weather is beyond our control, and due to limited field availability and scheduling constraints, we are unable to make up missed games.
Refunds must be requested via refunds@norwestsoccer.com and will be mailed to the address in your profile at the end of the month. Player refunds have a $25 admin fee and may be less than 50% of the paid fee if requested within 30 days of the program start.
Coach & Referee Course refunds have a 10% fee if requested 14+ days before the course. No refunds within 2 weeks unless a replacement coach is found. Program date changes by the club may qualify for a full refund. Full refunds are also possible with a doctor’s note for a new condition preventing participation.
